Leading Teams

A common concern that I hear from organizations is that their new leaders are struggling to learn how to lead in their new roles. The jump from being a contributor on a team to being the leader is big! Suddenly you have to get the work done AND help others in their work. Many leaders who have been at leading for awhile can struggle to even define how they lead, they just do it successfully. So how do you teach new leaders to lead?

Throughout my years in leadership I was faced with this conundrum many times. Over time I developed a model to help teach people how to lead teams. It's called Leading Teams (super creative, I know). I have used this model in the organizations I've led in and I now use it in my consulting practice to help organizations with new leaders thrive.

The model is based on 5 tenants that are vital to all teams: Vision, Clarity, Fun, Time and Care. The best part is that each of these tenants is teachable and measurable. Over the next couple weeks I'm going to share about each of the tenants here. I look forward to hearing from you about how you've experienced these 5 in your organization and how you've helped new leaders grow!
